me and my friend both ride horses and i am using her horse for the summer so i was wondering wat fun games we can play on horseback. it can involve being bareback, the outdoors, weaving, small jumps and cantering. we dont have an indoor arena btw. both of us are intermediate/advanced riders. and for preferably two or three people. thanx!

I absolutely love playing soccer. I am pretty sure the horses like it as well. We get a large ball, like the exercise/pilates ones, and the horses kick it towards a goal. We had a team of 4 vs 4 once, and the horses really got into it- cutting each out naturally, using their head as well to move it, etc.
Also- I throw in speed events for fun- barrels, poles, or jumping events.

My fave is Red Light Green LIght Xtreme you get in a big open area and two ppl or more are competing while one person is the light the light gets in the middle of the two of you half way down the arena and yells red light green light whoever gets to the end of the arena first wins you have to canter and whoever says red light has to give you until 5 Mississippi to stop but u r not out if the horse fidgets u r out tho if the horse keeps going. It's sooo fun

My fave game is the potatoe in the bucket game xD
You start off at the bottom on a arena/field and grab a potatoe, mount on gallop to the other side where you put the potatoe into a bucket.
Every person gets a different pile of potatoes and a different bucket, (we use 5 spuds) the person who as moved them all into the bucket the fastest wins. You must dismount to pick up a spud tho.
There is also a game we call chasey charlie. you start off with a small jump and when every1 has jumped it you make it higher. When your horse knocks it down or you chicken out your disqualified. The person left at the end wins

Its a really fun game i me and my mate once got to a 5ft 6 jump but both our horses knocked it down so it was a draw lol XD

when my sister used to live with me we had a huge pasture and we had a large round pen in the middle of it. We had 9 horses at the time and all of them rode so we would put them all in the pen together (thankfully they got along well with each other) then find the one we wanted to ride then pony one or two more off of that one horse and play cowgirls and indians, i had a white pony with a gray face and one gray spot on her hind end so i would put poke salad juice on her to make her look like my indian pony and my sister had a cap gun and we would go chasing each other around on the horses, pretending to heard them around like they were mustangs but you need atleast 10 acres for it to be really fun and lots of trees and creeks. its fun bareback or saddled and you can take turns being cowgirl or indian
but i wouldnt recommend it for a nervous horse since you would be running with cap guns or jumping in water and mazing your way through trees but its awesome for a horse that is very athletic and you can throw in some jumps like a fallen tree or creek beds
